This multi-phase remodeling project was accomplished in several stages. We aimed for and achieved the highest standard of craftsmanship during each phase of construction.

The first phase of this project consisted of plastering and painting all rooms, as well as restoring all of the original woodwork. Custom-made reproductions of the original doors were manufactured and installed. The woodwork was reproduced to closely match the original throughout the apartment. Steel door frames and casings where stripped, repaired, and repainted.

A year later, two bathrooms where completely retrofitted with a new tub, fixtures and tiles.

The third stage involved the complete renovation of the kitchen. A wall separating the original small kitchen from the living room was removed. Great care was taken in selecting the materials and veneer for the new kitchen cabinets. They were custom-built using bamboo plywood and finished with clear lacquer spray finish.

The installation of an under-mounted sink and a cook top in the glass countertops required the creation of precisely cut openings in the glass surface. Water jet cutting was used to achieve this precision. The glass was back-painted to obtain the desired color and look.
